Christmas 2008
Hello All! I hope you had a great Christmas. We had a very busy one. We woke, opened a present and were off to have breakfast with the Meador Family (The family Chris is skiing with). They invited us to their place as Santa had left some presents under their tree for some Wilson kids! They had a ball watching the girls unwrap and play with their gifts. When Chris headed off to ski, the girls and I headed over to Lion's Head so that Myka could do some x-mas powder skiing with her Uncle Lucien! They tore it up! Well, she did get a new ski jacket from Lucien and Jessy so she had to do it justice! After about 6 runs or so we headed home to heat up a ham! Lucien, Jessy and her brother Andy joined us for dinner, dessert (Jessy's apple pie....yummm) and some gift and stocking unwrapping. It was such a fun day. I really missed all of you and hope you were having a great time in your separate venues wrapped in memories of our past gatherings and hopeful for future ones.

New Do for a New Year!
Myka had been asking for a long time to get her hair cut. She didn't want it in her face anymore. We headed out to the salon early Thursday morning and I noticed Myka had a little plastic bag in her hand. "Mom can I please change shoes when I get there?" I looked in the bag and saw that she had packed her plastic pink princess shoes...(no joke!) It was rich. Just one of those things I will never forget. She sat herself down on the bench, back straight and full of purpose. Switched into her shoes, slid off, did a little scuffle (sound check!), turned to me and declared that she was now ready! {Meanwhile Siri is having a hay day with all of the colorful product bottles on the shelves.} It was a blast! Enjoy the end result!!

Some Myka Ski Moves
(So sorry about the neck kink)
Notice the addition of......Ballet Arms!!
What a trip this kid is!!
A Little Ski Chick is Born!
Myka spent her first day back on skis with Lucien and Jessy. Lucien and I took a couple of runs( so fun and we had great snow) while the ski chicks made some turns. She took a couple more runs with the two of them and we left ... hungry for more. She did great. She looks so small. With Siri around I forget how little this one is until I see her way up on the chair lift in between Lucien and Jessy!
I couldn't wait to go again so a couple of days later I took her up to Beaver Creek. It is a 15 min. bus ride and couldn't be more convenient. I cannot describe this experience to you.(although here I go!) It was overwhelming.... amazingly beautiful day....warm, blue sky, heaven.... then, this little kid in front of me, carving some turns.... acting like a ski racer.... pulling some amazing balancing feats ( I kept asking her if her name was really Bode Miller!) ramming herself purposely into the hill side.... zooming off the run because she wanted to ski in the deep snow... giggling, laughing, squealing kid of mine!
I will never forget that day and feel so blessed that there will be more to come!
Pray for Snow!

2008 Men's World Cup
It has been World Cup weekend here at Wilson headquarters. Myka, Siri, and Chris went to the opening celebration on Thursday night. They watched the demo team and a night ski down, they enjoyed music, fireworks, cookies and hot chocolate. (Siri returned with some great sound effects pointing and saying "sky, sky") We all went to the downhill race on Friday. One Myka Wilson is a huge ski race fan and has been three days in a row. She is now familiar with some of the skiers names and cheers loudly and shakes her bells! Hermann Maier is her favorite (the Hermannator) and she will proudly tell you that today is his BIRTHDAY!!!! Cheers!

Thank you for your hospitality and love. We miss you all and are looking forward to our next visit. (Siri now has a thing for dancing on tables! )
